For the record…

On May 5th I blogged about wanting to buy a flannel shirt, and how I was apprehensive about doing so since nobody was really wearing flannel shirts (unless they were in the lumberjacking profession).

Well, in case you are blind and/or not up on the latest trends, flannel shirts are now having a HUGE comeback. Seriously, you can buy one for like $40 at Urban Outfitters.

I’m not sayin’. I’m just sayin’. CALLED IT!!!

I recently discovered that I missed blogging. Only, I didn’t know I missed it until I found this blog on google. I wrote my first post about a quote from a 70’s hockey player, and I have to write a paper on sports (very specific, I know) for English 050, and I decided to write about the same quote. I discovered that if you google “my mask saved my life” the first link is to my blog. HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT?!?!

So I decided to reincarnate this forgotten journalism project, because I’m in college now, and life is different, and I’m different, and though I’m pretty sure nobody reads this old thing, it feels good to get it all out. Plus, I laughed at my old postings because I forgot how clever I was. I know, I’m really lame. This is old news, people.

So, that’s that.

I don’t feel like blogging today. I’m going to go read Rolling Stone.

I am a slacker. I’ll admit that. (Proudly, in fact.) I pride myself on my ability to conjure up answers to essays on book’s I’ve never even opened and I can rock a class discussion on an article I’ve never read. It’s not that I don’t want to do my work. Actually… that’s exactly it.

Throughout my life I’ve been told that the goal of elementary school is to prepare you for high school, and the goal of high school is to prepare you for college, and that the goal of college is to prepare you for life, and the goal of life is….well, what? By this logic, what is the point of doing all that work in school? Will knowing the themes behind To Kill A Mockingbird really help me in life? Negative, ghost rider.

Basically what I’m saying is know how to bullshit. Know how to bullshit well. It’s the single most useful thing I’ve learned in 12 years of school.

With only 18 school days left until graduation, my life has become a mash of graduation meetings, college paperwork, worrying about the future, and trying not to fail my classes. Since when did senior year become so stressful? Lately, I’ve found that all I want to do is color with crayons after naptime. I miss those days. Senioritis has not proved to be beneficial to me…at all. Considering I’ve had senioritis since sophomore year, I’m convinced that there is only one cure: graduation.

18 more days. 18 more days.

Until then, you’ll most likely find me in the journalism room, napping, playing solitaire, or frantically trying to finish work that was due two weeks ago…

Lumberjacks…

This post is for everyone that I know, and that knows me….(although if you are neither, I’m suprised that you’re reading this.) I went to UVM last weekend for an accepted student’s day, and while I was walking around, I noticed a lot of people wearing plaid flannel shirts (girls mostly) and at first, I’ll admit that I wanted to throw on a summer dress and run to the nearest beach…but then I realized that I was in Burlington and it gets cold and snowy and there’s really no beach around…

Then I keep seeing these Buffalo-Check slannel shirts with leggins, skirts, a dress, jeans…just about anything. And I kinda want one…BUT IT’S PLAID FLANNEL! I just can’t get over that. I don’t know. I’m going to google search “women’s buffalo check shirt” until I find something that I like…if I find something that I like.

If you feel like talking me out of it, you’re more than welcome.
